Careers Workshops

The three careers workshops run in October 2009 by Nigel Baglin, the School's Director of Careers Services, proved a great success with between 50 and 60 fifth and sixth-formers attending each one.

Six Old Cits and two parents participated in the medical profession workshop on 13th October 2009, providing a broad spectrum of experience. These included third year medical student, Leo Arkush (2006 leaver), F2 Senior House Officer Robert Stellman (2001 leaver), 1999/2000 leavers and now specialists in their fields Nischay Mehta, Avi Marks and Gavin Dabrera, and Phillip Ferreira-Lay (1989), Specialist Registrar, Psychiatry and Psycotherapy.

A lively question and answer session followed the introductions, covering everything from ‘do you need chemistry ‘A' level' and ‘what is a typical day for an F1 House Officer' to ‘how easy is it to change speciality once you've qualified'.  The boys continued their quizzing of Old Cits afterwards over drinks and sandwiches.
